This course is designed to familiarize firefighters and fire inspectors as to the importance of building construction as it relates to the fire service. Identifying how building construction can influence fire spread, fire confinement or structural collapse will be discussed.

This course is designed to teach students how to understand the information contained in building plans, structural drawings and other building specifications as they relate to the fire inspector. Common symbols, abbreviations and how to use an architectural ruler with be reviewed.
